Another "Hot" August

Welcome aboard Mark Trusso. “Thank You” for stepping up to the plate & accepting the SOA Judge Advocate’s Position.  Here it is August already. It’s not too early to think about saving our nickels & dimes (quarters if you gott’em). Dues will be due, so let’s think about renewals before December.  Also, I would like to extend a “thank you to the AMVETS & LAUX for supporting our events. A “Great Big Thank You” to LAUX President Tammy B. for cookin’ the Joe’s & Beans.  Yumm! Yumm! Ummm! Good!  Lee Babcock/SOA 1st Vice.

There is an e-mail going around concerning our “Commander & Chief” about his opinion concerning our veterans & their health care.  Please, read & think about it.  Yours in Service, Katy Barber, District 10 Commander

Thank You all for your loving thoughts, cards, gifts & phone calls.  I appreciate your kindness & it helped with my recuperation. You make me feel so loved.  I miss you all so much. God Bless you all!  Tony Stark.

It has been brought to my attention that some of you think that the lunches we serve on Saturday are for the Saturday card players only.  NOT SO, it’s for everyone.  The proceeds from the lunches are divided among the following:

1. AMVETS’ Mortgage Fund

2. LAUXsunsun

3. Smoke-Eaters

4. Euchre

Our lunches are only $3 and we do have carry-outs. Remember, this is lunch & not a dinner. Please come out and support our Post.  In closing, I would like to express a “BIG THANK YOU” to all of you that have supported our lunches, to the servers and especially Liz Miller for all her help.  Your Saturday Chef, Sonia Massey.

We put a lot of stuff on our Bartenders & I’m sorry to say I am a contributor to that!  But, all Officers & regulars please, remember to pick up your newsletters in the Canteen.  If you need it mailed or want to pick it up in the Canteen please, let me know.  If you need something posted in the Newsletter, please have it on my desk or in my hands no later than the 20th of the month.  Yours in Service, Smitty.
